Turning 18 is a pretty big deal to most teenagers.  This senior didn't even let on that we had scheduled his senior shoot on his special day until we were almost finished.  He was such a great sport about getting the session done even though this warm, technically spring day was feeling more like summer.  A few take-away's from the shoot.... he's a typical first born, and all around great kid, polite, employed (pretty awesome to already have a job), and a very easy going and pliable model for our photo session.  I always love those young men that come into a photo session with the great attitude like this guy has.

Megan

Three words come to mind when I think of this senior.... smart, focused and sweet.  I first met her about 3-4 years ago when I photographed her family.  When you photograph a family you get to know the whole bunch, whereas with a senior session I really love it because I get some time to actually visit with seniors....such very interesting people.  On the cusp of taking on the world, there's really nothing like a senior.  This senior didn't disappoint.  She's lovely and super excited about her academic adventure ahead and I couldn't be happier for her.

Madeline

I met this sweet senior a few years ago.  She wasn't someone I really knew at all... I just knew her from afar.  I'm delighted to say that I had the pleasure of spending a few hours cruising the town with her and she is such an interesting person.  Even more, it sounds like she has a very interesting future ahead.  I can't wait to see where she goes!

We also had the chance to capture a few of the whole family together. So glad the timing worked so we could create these fun images.

A McCoy Family reunion

Family.  I don't think there are many words that can bring up feelings of joy, love, fun, belonging and forever like the word family does.

I had the pleasure of hanging out with this family during a very special trip where they could all be together in North Carolina.  It was fun to see all the cousins being goofy and creative together.  Great to see sisters and brothers sharing fun times together.  And what joy it was for me to get to see a family all together creating new memories.  I realize now I used the word together a lot... but that's just what it was.... TOGETHER!  Thank you for letting me have a glimpse into your world!

A Fall Friday

When this sweet mama and I chatted about where to go, I was glad when she chose downtown Matthews.  What a break we had that we were able to do this fall shoot on a Friday morning.  Little foot traffic is always great for a photo shoot and this day was traffic free.  I love the care free attitude of this go-with-the flow family.  I always try and tell families to please just relax and it felt like this bunch really did arrive with the relaxed, fun attitude I always hope for.  We tried a bunch of spots and got some great shots of all…. Just look at these kiddos.  Absolutely adorable!

A little longer than usual : )

When I look back at these pictures I remember the day I hung out with this newest member of this sweet family.  This was kind of an unusual shoot that we had to spread out a little due to some family stuff.... but oh, were they worth it!  Take a look at this sleepy little cutie below and know that while he looks adorable in these images, we really didn't have to work too hard for this one.  He was just perfect and performed beyond expectations.
