The Cheng Chin Family

I met up with this family on a very warm day this month.  What great sports their kiddos were to keep going on a very muggy day.  They were truly fantastic to work with.  This very sweet brother and sister played, giggled and did just what we wanted for the pictures.  What troopers!

I also had fun getting to know this couple.  Like my husband and I, this couple dated a long time and have been married a long time too.... Love is great!  And you can sure feel the love in this family!
Dogs can sometimes be a challenge on a shoot, but this gentle giant (still really just a puppy) is just so sweet.  All in all, it was a really great afternoon getting some great pictures.

The Wrisley Family

What a joy to meet up with this very lovely family in their home. It didn't get off to the best start as I fell up their stairs. Who could do that? Well clumsy me... I was surveying their beautiful entry way when I just missed the bottom stair. I sliced off a bit of skin and of course they were so hospitable and kind in helping me overcome an awkward beginning. The rest of the shoot went like a dream. This family is just so photogenic! They were all so willing to continue on to do some really fun stuff. Check out some of the fun we had that night. Be sure to also view their slideshow at: www.vimeo.com/lisaodonnell

A Tree Swing

Each Sunday, I pass by this beautiful huge tree that happens to have a rope swing on it.  I'm always intrigued and tempted to stop.  Yesterday was finally that day.  Meg and I pulled over so she could give it a go.  Here are a few pictures from our time there.  I've mentioned this spot a few times to some clients.... maybe you'd like to have your picture taken here too : )

Summer of Fun 2012

Here's an idea for all you mommies out there that are trying to keep your kiddos busy this summer.... A Target Scavenger Hunt!

Below are a few pictures from our fun day at Target.  Here's the way it works:  divide the kids into teams that work well together.  You know... pair an older kid up with a younger kid, split up bickering siblings, etc.  Two kids on a team is great, but a third little one can be added.  Each team is given an instruction sheet that explains the game and gives a list of items they will be looking for.  This is a scavenger hunt where the ultimate goal is to find all the items on the list (in the order given) for the least expensive price.  Each team uses a cellphone or ipod to take a picture of each item on their list with the price.  The team with the lowest total wins the game.  There isn't a rush to finish early, so the rule is "no running".  While the race is afoot, the mommies can kick back at the Target Cafe/Starbucks sipping coffee waiting for the kiddos to finish.  Since there is only one way in and out of Target it's a pretty safe spot for a little independence for junior shoppers.

Here's our group.  We had three teams, making sure we put one of the older kids on each team.

The list of items isn't too specific and requires the kids to think outside of the box.  For example, "bug spray" was interpreted as either bug spray to kill bugs, or the kind of spray you put on your body to ward of mosquitoes.

Surprisingly, all of our teams came in remarkably close in price to each other, with the winning team coming in just about 3 dollars lower than the closest team.

For a prize we took all the kids to the candy aisle and let everyone pick on a candy of their choice... with the winners being allowed to pick out a jumbo size.

So this is something we've done to keep cool and have fun this summer.  If you have any suggestions for some creative cool fun, please let me know : )  My email is Lisa@LisaOPhotography.com.
