In love...

I met up with this very sweet couple to take some engagement shots.  They were so energetic and fun to work with.  It was great chatting about all their upcoming wedding plans.  I love talking wedding plans!  What an exciting time in life!  You could just feel the excitement between them.  Did I say they were great to work with?!?!   I loved how she came up with some fun ideas of their own too.

A Day in Pasadena

We spent the day touring some Pasadena landmarks.  We started off at the Huntington Hotel (now called the Langham).  Built in 1906, it has some pretty incredible history and architecture.

Lunch was at a small park on California Street.  Kate met this super friendly girl that loves to swing as much as my girly does.

Another stop on our Pasadena tour was the Church of the Angels.  Built in 1889, it has some unique architecture.

This teeny door on the back was just begging for a picture with my 35" sweetie-pie.  This elfish door makes my 2 year old look like a giant.

A cool mosaic with my boy

We took a few minutes today to explore.  We found this very beautiful mosaic that has the most fantastic colors.  Love it!

Happy Valentine's Day

This very pretty mommy and I knew we wanted to do a photo session of her little boy, but when she suggested a Valentine shoot I was so excited.  Pictures of little guys are always fun, but include a theme and a purpose and that just adds to the fun of the day.  Here's some of my favorites from our Valentine's Day shoot...

Oranges have arrived at Heritage Park!

If you're looking for a fun place to take the kids, consider taking a look at Heritage Park in La Verne.  For a few weeks beginning in January you can go to this small historic citrus grove and pick oranges.  The Webber House is an 1880's farmhouse on the property that you can tour on Saturday mornings. There is also a neat little barn that is just begging to be a part of photos.

Fair haired boy in La Verne

This is the sweetest little 16 month old.  At one point in the morning he sat on my lap and just cuddled.  I totally melted!  We had the best morning playing at the park.  What gorgeous eyes and beautiful long lashes....why are the boys always blessed with the great lashes?!?!?!

Completely airborn...

This is the sweetest little boy.  Although I think his daddy might be a bit crazy throwing his baby so high in the air.  I just cringe : ).  We had some fun trying out the incredible speed of this camera (it takes 8 frames per second) and here is the picture of the flying boy.  Notice he's looking right at me!  How cool is that!

This daddy has so much fun with all his kiddos.  He plays like he's a big kid himself.  I can just imagine all the fun they have at home.

Marshmallow Mama

I had the great delight to photograph Sarah Patterson's Marshmallow Mama creations.  Marshmallow Mama is her new company that features handmade gourmet seasonal marshmallows.  I love her slogan.... "Life is better with a little fluff!"  And boy, are these marshmallows super yummy.

 Strawberry

Pralines and cream.  Sarah floated these fab-u-lous marshmallows into some hot chocolate.  After we finished shooting these beauties I got to drink this decadent cup of wonderfulness!

 Candy Cane Delight

Minted Carmel

To get more info on these fabulous treats, check out Marshmallow Mama on facebook or get in touch with Sarah at marshmallowsp@gmail.com.  I know it all sounds like an ad, but her stuff is really great.  She was getting ready for a big party for a client and these yummy treats were some of the flavors that were being packaged as party favors.  Someday (very soon, I think) Sarah will go big with her business and I can say "I knew her when..."   : )

Ginny and Tim

My friend Tricia allowed me to come along on another wedding she photographed.  It's so fun to see her work with couples.  The wedding was in Redlands and the couple did a second shoot location of The Raines House in Rancho Cucamonga.  Thanks again Trish for the experience.

These centerpieces were really unique.  As the couple was doing another reception in Louisiana they needed the centerpieces to travel..... hence the centerpieces were made out of tea stained coffee filters.  The attention to detail was pretty amazing at this reception.

Deb, Maddie and Parker

I had the pleasure of meeting my dear friend Debra at the park for a fun photo shoot with her very cute dogs, Parker and Maddie.  You have no idea how many people came up to us throughout our morning to admire these very sweet and gentle dogs.  I thought babies were a people magnet... but clearly Parker and Maddie have something pretty special.  Thanks Deb for a fun morning!
