Mackinac Island

So, I'm finally getting to editing my pictures from beautiful Michigan.  I'm starting with one of my favorite spots on earth.... Mackinac Island.   This little magical island is only accessible by ferry in late spring, summer and early fall.  The rest of the year Lake Huron freezes over, making passage to the island available to few that are willing to drive across the ice.  When you arrive on the island you soon realize the charm of a world without motor vehicles with transportation options being limited to walking, bicycles or horse drawn carriages.  Here are a few of my favorites from our time on Mackinac Island...

Summer Swim

I've never been a big fan of summer.  It's too hot for far too long.  However, all that changed three years ago.  I love swim team.  And while I still hate the heat it means that the kids will be out swimming their hearts out.  Here's a few from this season...

Pretty in pearls....

I can hardly believe this little one is 6 months old already.  It truly seems like just yesterday we were taking her newborn pics.  It was cold and December.... a far cry from the scorching weather we had on this very warm June day.  What troopers all the kiddos were as this sweet mom and dad worked with me to get the very best for the shoot.  And like the little performers they are they came through.  Here's just a few from our very fun 6 month shoot.....

Pink Little Princess

Here's a few from a recent shoot with this little pink princess.  Could she be any cuter?!?!?!  If you've looked at my blog before you may recognize this little wonder as my niece.  She's quick to share her beautiful smile with all.  Enjoy these precious shots we got of her on a teeny mini session one morning.  Adorable!

Miracle

This baby session was really close to my heart.  Little Jacob Stephan is such a miracle.  His mom and I had a fun afternoon setting up little scenes for their latest newborn while discussing the miracle of his arrival into this world.  Isn't the creation of a baby just an absolute miracle?!?!?!  I have my own amazing birth story for my children and it was special to be with a family that appreciates this miracle as I do.  While most of the shoot was of Jacob, big brother was such a sport to go along with a few poses we wanted as well.

Bain 50th Anniversary

A few weeks ago I had the privilege to photograph the beautiful 50th wedding anniversary party of Seavy and Marilyn Bain.  Their legacy of love has been passed down to their 4 girls who so eloquently expressed all the amazing attributes their parents have given them. It was neat to see the whole family come together and create such a lovely celebration for their parents.  Congratulations to you all.  Below are some favorites of the evening. 

Beautiful Evening Session

One of the things I like best about photographing families is that I get to see a pretty personal glimpse into who they are and how their family works.  This was a super fun family to get to meet with some pretty neat kiddos.  My favorite tidbit of the evening was that their youngest had just decided to accept Jesus into his life about 5 minutes before I arrived.  What a special moment to tell me about!  To see more of the session, go to:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRz0snr1s8E
