365 Project - Through the Eyes of a Child

Here's today's post for my 365 project.  The theme today is "Through the Eyes of a Child".  A few years back Katelyn asked Santa for a very specific gift:  a snow globe with Santa and all his reindeer flying through the sky.  I hadn't the foggiest idea how Santa would ever be able to create or find such a creation, but miracles happen and he fulfilled her wish exactly.

San Diego Wedding

What a surprise when I found out that a new friend, Tricia Swift, from my Valle Vista Bunco group is a wedding photographer.  I was even more surprised when she offered to let me go along as her assistant on an upcoming wedding in San Diego.  The big thrill was that we were going to be taking pictures on the beach in Laguna (something I was really looking forward to).  The bummer was that rain was forecast for the big day.  After a quick change of location, Trish found a fantastic spot in La Jolla.  While the clouds were a bit foreboding, we never even saw a drop.  Here's a few fun shots from the day...

MOMS Club Holiday Party

I had the joy of attending my MOMS Club Holiday Party & Cookie exchange this morning.  So many cute kiddos.... some eager to pose and other cuties way more interested in the fun going on in the room with all the other kids.  Here's a few cute shots from today.

What a surprise I had a few weeks ago when my very sweet friend, Sarah Patterson, asked if I would take a few pictures at our MOMS Club Holiday Party.  She has been quite inspirational in my endeavor to launch my photography business.  Sarah herself has recently started a new business creation called Marshmallow Mama specializing in gourmet seasonal marshmallows.... and let me just say they are amazing!  Here is my very creative friend Sarah...

I have so enjoyed getting to know my friend CeCe better this last year in book club.  She has a remarkable life story and has such a heart and compassion for doing the Lord's work.

After school with Ty

Here's a few from a fun time today with Tyler.  My fantastic kid loves history.  It's great that our city has a fun story to it's beginning.  Murder, never-found-treasure, and land that was fabulous for vineyards is all of what Rancho Cucamonga started off with.  Pretty interesting discovering what is right in our own backyard. 

Two Year Old at the College

We started off the day with a little dress-up.  This wasn't a mommy inspired shot... it just so happened that Meg dressed up in a Belle dress and was bending down in our kitchen looking at her high heels.  I love her sweet expression.

Later in the day we took off for a photo adventure.  What an amazing campus the Claremont Colleges are.  We had so much fun this morning exploring the grounds and looking for fun places to take pictures. 

365 Project - Kitchen

Here's another two for my "in the kitchen" series for my forum group.  Although the still-life photos are pretty boring, they don't blink, squirm or wiggle like my kiddos do!

For my 365 Project the theme this week is kitchen.  I tried a number of different experiments with fast and slow shutter speeds.  Here's what we came up with for today.  Thanks for the suggestion, Tim!

Fall in December

Well... fall is finally in full swing here.  Here's a picture of my cutie.  She is always such a willing model for her mama with the camera.

A Playdate with Friends

We had a great morning with this very fun mom and her boy.  Wow!  Is she ever talented.  I loved capturing this mom and her cutie in a snuggling moment.
